Dr. Vimal opened the door and found his new patient sitting upright in bed.
As he looked at the young patient, he was struck by the uncanny resemblance with another patient who had occupied the same room years back.
When Dr. Vimal looked around, he saw the old lady standing beside the bed.
“Mrs. Bakshi?”
“Yes, Dr. Vimal. This is my son Chirag.”
Dr. Vimal was shaken. Chirag’s father was his patient 17 years back. It seemed like yesterday. He had passed away without recovering.
Permanent amnesia in two successive generations of a family was a first for Dr. Vimal.

Sad that the old lady had to live through those two instances. It pricks the survivor too to go through it. 😦
