“You guys set up the table. I’ll get coffee bhayya,” Shivani guided Naman and Yogesh.
Naman and Yogesh dutifully went about setting up a table. They exchanged a naughty smile at the end of it.
“Hope Shivani gets her act right now,” Naman remarked as they glanced over at the counter of the coffee shop they frequented daily. Coffee bhayya was special – the one who took pains to prepare them their daily coffees and snacks.
“So, did he bite the bait?” Yogesh was curious.
“Yes!” Shivani said excitedly.
A few minutes later, Yogesh made a quick phone call. He could see coffee bhayya approaching through the corner of his eyes.
The moment bhayya laid their coffee and snacks on the table, a beaming Tamanna came in with a red velvet cake.
As she placed the cake on the table, there was a chorus: “Happy Birthday, coffee bhayya!”
Coffee bhayya was momentarily stunned but soon recovered. As he looked at the beautifully crafted wishes on the cake, he could not control the tears in his eyes. No one had bothered to remember his birthday but within a few months of coming to this city, these young hearts had made him extremely happy and proud.
