#366days366posts – Day 37 – Remembering Munich

Busby Babes you were called;
When cruelly, fate intervened.
Eight of your best was lost;*
On that tragic day in February.
A lost passport – a bad omen?
Disembarking – a stroke of luck?
Called again – luck’s about turn!
A take off that wasn’t one,
Crashing into death’s hands;
Bent, Byrne, Colman, Edwards,
Jones, Pegg, Taylor & Whelan.
The Babes were never the same!
Remembering them this day;
The saddest day for United!

* Eight Manchester United players, part of the legendary Busby Babes, were among 23 killed when a plane carrying them crashed while attempting to take off at Munich.

I'm an avid reader and writer. Reading gets me a feeling of understanding the world through different perspectives and writing helps me outline my thoughts from the cobwebs that the mind has trapped it in!
