Well, well, the nominations are out and with a little bit of surprise and twists. I may have miscalculated a thing or two with my predictions the other day. Nevertheless, I will go through each category and list the nominations and highlight the ones which I got correct. I will also indicate my success percentage in parentheses. Fingers crossed, folks!

That’s not too bad 🙂

The nominations were not without surprises and twists as I said at the beginning. Most notable of all was the snubbing of Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino and Ridley Scott for the Best Director. They all did a very good job with their respective movies and deserved the nomination. I was also surprised at Michael Fassbender’s nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of Steve Jobs. He didn’t actually do that good a job but Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak was impressive and he should have been on the list for Best Supporting Actor.

Anyways, let’s toast to the nominees. I will follow-up on this with another piece in February predicting the winners. The awards are to be given away on February 28.
